The K5 Drinking Water Station is the most advanced reverse osmosis system with unique features and functions designed by the manufacturer, capable of removing up to 99.99% of all contaminants from water. The K5 Drinking Water Station comes standard with three filter modules: A pre-filter for removing chlorine and water-insoluble particles down to 0.5 microns in size. A semi-permeable, high-performance reverse osmosis membrane removes contaminants such as pesticides, nitrates and nitrites, iron and manganese, organic compounds, bacteria and viruses, hardness salts, etc. A fine filter designed to remove residual inorganic compounds from water, which can adversely affect taste and odor. If needed, use any of the following cartridges to address your specific drinking water purification needs: Purefecta Guard - removes 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses, producing biologically pure drinking water. VOC Guard - removes volatile organic compounds found in water, such as pesticides and many others. Arsenic Guard - an additional level of protection recommended for water that has tested positive for elevated arsenic levels. Perchlorate Guard - perchlorate is a byproduct of some manufacturing processes. It has been shown to adversely affect the human thyroid gland. Perchlorate has been detected in drinking water and groundwater in many towns and cities across Russia. Chloramine Guard - significantly reduces chloramine levels in water. Chloramine is a mixture of chlorine and ammonia. This product is used as a disinfectant and is added to municipal water supplies. This substance is quite toxic and therefore poses a health risk.
